Basic Cadet Knowledge

These are the foundations for the JROTC class; taught during the LET 1 year but carry on throughout the cadets' entire high school career and the rest of their lives.

JROTC Mission Statement:

"To Motivate Young People to Be Better Citizens" 


Battalion Mission Statement: 

The CHCORI Battalion Army JROTC motivates cadets to be better citizens by providing a safe, spirited, supportive enviroment that fosters physical & intellectual growth through diverse activities & challenges that combine to instill qualities necessary for being productive individuals in today's society. 

Cadet Creed: 

I am an Army Junior ROTC Cadet. 

I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school, and the Corps of Cadets. 

I am loyal and patriotic. 

I am the future of the United States of America. 

I do not lie, cheat or steal and will always be accountable for my actions and deeds. 

I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism. 

I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body. 

I will seek the mantle of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and the American way of life. 

May God grant me the strength to always live by this creed. 

Seven Army Values: 

Loyalty - Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. constitution, the Army, and other soldiers. 

Duty - Fulfill your obligations. 

Respect - To treat others as they should be treated. 

Selfless Service - Put the welfare of the nation, the Army, and your subordinates before your own. 

Honor - Live up to all the Army values.

Integrity - Do what is right, legally and morally. 

Personal Courage - Our ability to face fear, danger, or adversity, both physical and moral courage. 

11 Principles of Leadership:

1. Know yourself and seek self-improvement.

2. Know your subordinates and look out for their welfare.

3. Keep your subordinates informed. 

4. Be technically and tactically proficient.

5. Build/Train your subordinates as a team.

6. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions.

7. Set the example. 

8. Ensure the task is understood, supervised, and accomplished.

9. Employ your command in accordance with its capabilities.

10. Develop a sense of responsibility among your subordinates.  

11. Make sound and timely decisions.
